Abstract Submission
Abstract and Late breaker abstract submission is now closed.
Notifications for abstracts and late breaker will be sent out in mid-September.
All abstracts accepted for presentation at the conference will be presented as oral or as poster presentations. They will be published in the abstract book and on the abstract CD-ROM. Both will be available on site.
For those who are inexperienced at submitting abstracts, a free online course on how to write and submit a conference abstract, has recently been made available by the International AIDS Society (IAS) www.iasociety.org and the Health[e]Foundation www.healthefoundation.eu. Authored by the editors of the Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS) www.healththefoundation.eu", the e-course includes guidelines on conference abstract preparation, writing and submission, as well as key take-home messages and an overview in the form of a checklist.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
The deadline for late breaker submission was August 31, 2011. No abstracts will be accepted after this date.
• Fields marked with a red star are mandatory.
• Abstracts must be prepared in English only.
• The text should not exceed 300 words (EXCLUDING abstract title & authors' name). • Abstracts sent by fax, post or email will not be accepted.
The text of the abstract should briefly state:
• Objectives (indicate the purpose of the study or the hypothesis that was tested)
• Methods (include the setting for the study, the subjects, the diagnosis or intervention and the type of statistical analysis; if references are needed, they should be given in the text)
• Results (present as clearly as possible the outcome of the study and statistical significance if appropriate)
• Conclusion (briefly discuss the data and emphasize the significance of the results).
Tables and graphics can be included in the abstract. These will not add to the word count.
As long as the abstract is not submitted it remains in status "Draft", which means modifications can be made before the abstract submission deadline. A confirmation of receipt will be sent via email upon submission of an abstract.
Presenting authors should register upon submitting their abstract. Registration must be completed at the latest upon confirmation that the abstract was accepted as an oral or poster presentation.
If it is not possible for you to submit your abstract via the Internet, or you should have any questions, please contact:
